January results!

Some clarification: the previous post were three platinums obtained in December, which means my “get to 300 platinums trophies in 2026” goes from Dec. 20, 2025 through Dec. 20, 2026. But that’s only to get to 300. If I can get over it that by the new year, that would be great.

So let’s see what I got this month.

ASSASSIN’S CREED MIRAGE (PS4)

I already got the PS5 version and I attempted to get the PS4 version with minimal effort. Ubisoft has this pretty convenient cloud save system. So convenient that I tried Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Xbox first, then bought the game on PS5. The cloud save file transferred and all the trophies I would have got unlocked. Nice. But did Mirage have that? And could I unlock PS4 trophies?

Sort of. Traditionally auto popping of trophies goes from PS4 to PS5 and not the other way around. But because of the cloud save feature you can force the trophy checks through some simple activities. I think overall it took me an hour to get though it.

MORTAL KOMBAT 1

This was easy but a little annoying. It was mostly easy but there were two trophies that caused me problems. First was beating a Titan fight, which is a limited event that happens for a couple of days somewhere randomly in their 40 plus day season. Ya just gotta keep checking in, until your sessions played number is amusing.

The other trophy was to topple the king in the King of the Hill mode. But as usual, the leaders were always more skilled than I was so it was by the grace of a friend willing to sacrifice 150 GB of space on their PS5 that I was able to get it.

COFFEE TALK

It’s 2020 in the fantasy version of Seattle where vampires and werewolfs date, elves are hipsters and ogres code your favorite video game. And they’re thirsty. You play as an owner of a coffee shop who is a little more than well versed in beverages from around the world. As someone who likes to listen to people, Coffee Talk is a great game to put your controller down and listen to people discussing their issues. As someone who hates coffee it’s a nightmare to try and figure out what kind of caffeinated beverage they want.

But ultimately it’s a good game and easy enough trophy list. There is a sequel to this game and I am looking forward to that.

THRILLVILLE

Back in the days of PS2 and Original Xbox, there was a game called Thrillville and as a console player and not a PC player, theme park sims were hard to come by. I loved Thrillville for being simple and fun. This isn’t that game. This is a lesser port of the PSP version that is weird to control and has trophies.

AERO THE ACROBAT

One of my favorite SNES games that today makes me question why and how I played that game. I remember getting pretty far in it and yet today found it quite difficult. Weird. Anyways, that’s over with.

FALLOUT 4 (PS4)

Almost 11 years, and 186 hours later, I finally got the “Benevolent Leader” trophy. It’s crazy how difficult something so simple was, but thanks to some DLC tricks, this trophy was easy but still took some time. I may come back to the PS4 version of this game someday to finish off the trophies, but for now it’s time to move on to the PS5 version and clean that one up.

I’m back, and older than ever!

Its time to write about stupid things again, but not what I used to. There are no plans for reviews or news, just my experiance with getting my PSN account to 300 platinums by 2027. As it is almost the middle of January, let’s play some catching up.

LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM REMASTER

Starting out on the journey that is “Life is Strange” for this year, I’m doing it in somewhat chronological order as this is a prequel to the first game and events here are heavily referenced in it. I’ve played the first game before and I do have all the trophies for that, but they made remasters of them, and that means new trophy lists. (Hell yeah.) There isn’t too much for me to say about this game. It’s a pretty straightforward, choice driven narrative. The trophies mostly revolve around drawing or adding graffiti to specific spots, most of which are optional. A guide is useful and not too full of spoilers.

HOME SAFTY HOTLINE

A fun little puzzle game. You play as an employee of a home warranty like business. You’ll get calls from customers that need help from things like bees, raccoons, and maybe one or two nightmares. It’s a good time. If you don’t get them all right the first time, don’t worry. The issues are not random. There are guides out there if you get lost (that last day is a doozy). I got the platinum on the PS5 version, and will soon obtain the PS4 one.

RATSHAKER

I like silly gimmicks as much as anyone else, but damn does this make me question how far can a joke or gimmick be taken. This is an easy game, but requires a lot of controller shaking and light puzzle solving. Oh, and while you’re shaking your controller, which again you will do a lot of, listening to the rat screaming. It’s oh so much… fun…

QUICK REVIEW: Fallout 3 and friends

fallout-wp9

I loved Oblivion. I love Fallout 3 more. How much more? I'll never play Oblivion again.

The world of Fallout is so in depth and so vast that I could just travel across the wasteland and not do any of the missions and be content with doing so. Oblivion is just too bland now.

I don't know what else to say about this game that you don't already know.

Fallout 3 score: 8/10

OPERATION: ANCHORAGE

I haven't played this yet. I'll let you know when I do.

THE PITT

This has a slow start. The level design is great but this isn't the best add-on.

score: 5/10

BROKEN STEAL

The best add-on. This extends the ending, raises the level cap, and adds perks. What more do you want?

9/10

POINT LOOKOUT

Fallout 3 + rednecks + fantastic setting = GREAT. The second best addition.

score: 8/10

MOTHERSHIP ZETA

I really like this, but it's kinda bland. Despite that this is a new setting, every hallway is the same and you'll want to see something different about halfway through. But, this has a great ending, and you'll get some wonderful weapons.

score: 7/10

So, all of this means what? One large game, 5 add-ons, and a few bugs that could get in the way of gameplay, the full package gets:

10/10

Another countdown

ANOTHER ONE?

Really?

Just tell me what it is. I'm gonna buy it anyways. I'm a whore for your products. Just tell me.

Forgotten Games: Onimusha Part 1 of 4

The first Onimusha game, to me, is a classic. It may be short and doesn't really have a propper ending, but I still hold it as one of the must own PS2 games. But, 5 games later, this IP seems to have dissapeared, last surfacing in 2006. Granted that was only 3 years ago, but This was a series that had one a year. So, to find out why this seems to have been dropped, I present to you, a review of the first game.

Believe it or not, but Capcom loved that Resident Evil was a cash cow. But, with so liitle story and cooperation for the creators, they desided to make one just like it.... in a way.

Onimusha has the pre-renderd backgrounds with fixed cameras, the horrific tank controls, just like Resident Evil, and the survival horror aspect of little to no health items. The difference is that this game is a lot more action oriented. And, it's a lot of fun. Unlike Resident Evil 1-3, I can play this game over and over. Onimusha has it's puzzles, but not like Resident Evil. Once you solve those puzzles in Resident Evil, the game looses it's complexities and mysteries. In Onimusha, you may know the puzzles, but you can still get your ass handed to you by a monster if your not careful.

There is also the character building aspect of this game. The more monsters you defeat the stronger you can become. Which meant that if you couldn't defeat a particular boss, just run around until you could level up one of your items and then try again.

As good as this game is, it's too short and the voice acting is awful (but it's not the worst).

This game was part one of a planed trilogy. So, there is more to come.

Onimusha Score: 8/10

Bleg!

I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN!!!!

Bioshock 2 is unshockingly delayed to sometime next year. But, that's fine I suppose. One less game I have to buy this year. I'm already spening $140+ on Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Batman: Arkham Asylam.

Something interesting

Here is something I found on 1up.com.
