January results!

Some clarification: the previous post were three platinums obtained in December, which means my “get to 300 platinums trophies in 2026” goes from Dec. 20, 2025 through Dec. 20, 2026. But that’s only to get to 300. If I can get over it that by the new year, that would be great.

So let’s see what I got this month.

ASSASSIN’S CREED MIRAGE (PS4)

I already got the PS5 version and I attempted to get the PS4 version with minimal effort. Ubisoft has this pretty convenient cloud save system. So convenient that I tried Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Xbox first, then bought the game on PS5. The cloud save file transferred and all the trophies I would have got unlocked. Nice. But did Mirage have that? And could I unlock PS4 trophies?

Sort of. Traditionally auto popping of trophies goes from PS4 to PS5 and not the other way around. But because of the cloud save feature you can force the trophy checks through some simple activities. I think overall it took me an hour to get though it.

MORTAL KOMBAT 1

This was easy but a little annoying. It was mostly easy but there were two trophies that caused me problems. First was beating a Titan fight, which is a limited event that happens for a couple of days somewhere randomly in their 40 plus day season. Ya just gotta keep checking in, until your sessions played number is amusing.

The other trophy was to topple the king in the King of the Hill mode. But as usual, the leaders were always more skilled than I was so it was by the grace of a friend willing to sacrifice 150 GB of space on their PS5 that I was able to get it.

COFFEE TALK

It’s 2020 in the fantasy version of Seattle where vampires and werewolfs date, elves are hipsters and ogres code your favorite video game. And they’re thirsty. You play as an owner of a coffee shop who is a little more than well versed in beverages from around the world. As someone who likes to listen to people, Coffee Talk is a great game to put your controller down and listen to people discussing their issues. As someone who hates coffee it’s a nightmare to try and figure out what kind of caffeinated beverage they want.

But ultimately it’s a good game and easy enough trophy list. There is a sequel to this game and I am looking forward to that.

THRILLVILLE

Back in the days of PS2 and Original Xbox, there was a game called Thrillville and as a console player and not a PC player, theme park sims were hard to come by. I loved Thrillville for being simple and fun. This isn’t that game. This is a lesser port of the PSP version that is weird to control and has trophies.

AERO THE ACROBAT

One of my favorite SNES games that today makes me question why and how I played that game. I remember getting pretty far in it and yet today found it quite difficult. Weird. Anyways, that’s over with.

FALLOUT 4 (PS4)

Almost 11 years, and 186 hours later, I finally got the “Benevolent Leader” trophy. It’s crazy how difficult something so simple was, but thanks to some DLC tricks, this trophy was easy but still took some time. I may come back to the PS4 version of this game someday to finish off the trophies, but for now it’s time to move on to the PS5 version and clean that one up.
