Final Fantasy I review

ff1logo

NOTE: I HAVE PLAYED THE PSP VERSION OF THE GAME, NOT THE ORIGINAL NES VERSION.

The first and most enjoyable Final Fantasy. It's easy to pick up and understand, but in a few areas you may have to talk to everyone in the town to find out where you go next. (The dancing girl in the first town plays a helpful role and points you in the right direction for the first mission or two.)

The story is one that pretty much repeates itself in the other Final Fantasy games. There are four elemental crystals and 4 warriors must get to all of them before it's too late.

Gameplay is the simple turn based where in one round everyone has one turn.

Difficulty is dependant on the jobs you chose. The default jobs are Warrior, Thief, White Mage and Black Mage. Monk and Red Mage are also available. If you chose the default, or something like it, you won't have too much of a problem. But, if you feel a little challange is in order, then choose 4 white mages to play your game. (Good luck.)

If you never played RPGs before, this is a great start.

You can find this game on NES, PSX, GBA, PSP.

Score: 7 out of 10.
